UWC welcomes positive assessment of Ukraine by IMF Mission

The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) welcomes the positive Statement at the conclusion of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission to Ukraine which took place 16-26 May 2017.

Mission leader Ron van Rooden noted in the statement, “The Ukrainian economy continues to recover, with growth expected to exceed 2 percent in 2017. Fiscal and monetary policies remain on track to meet the 2017 targets. Gross international reserves have increased further to US $17.6 billion, and inflation is projected to fall below 10 percent by the end of the year.” He also highlighted the importance of “decisive implementation of structural reforms” for Ukraine to achieve stronger and sustainable growth.

“The Ukrainian World Congress calls upon the governing authorities of Ukraine to continue the current reform path that will improve the conditions of life of all the people in Ukraine,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
