The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) on May 28 hosted an online discussion on the latest challenges in U.S.-Ukraine relations amid the newest phase of the Russo-Ukrainian war that is driven by high-tech drones that come in massive waves in both countries.
The event featured two leading journalists: Joe Lindsay, who has dispatched radio dispatches since the first day of the all-out war, and David Kirichenko, a Ukrainian-American freelance journalist and researcher.
They examined the current political dynamics between Washington and Kyiv and shared their insights on Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine.

The discussion served as a lead-up to the yearly advocacy event Ukrainian Days, set to take place in Washington, D.C., on June 11–12.
As part of the initiative, participants will meet with members of the U.S. Congress to address several critical issues, including:
- Security guarantees for Ukraine, including potential NATO membership
- Continued U.S. military support, especially in the area of air defense
- Tougher sanctions against Russia
- The use of frozen Russian assets to fund Ukraine’s reconstruction
- Raising awareness of Russia’s war crimes, including the abduction of Ukrainian children and the persecution of religious communities in occupied territories
UCCA underscored the heightened urgency and importance of this year’s advocacy efforts in light of the recent wave of large-scale missile and drone strikes on Ukraine.
