The World Federation of Ukrainian Women Organizations (WFUWO) is participating in the Second United Nations World Summit for Social Development, which is taking place on Nov. 4-6, in Doha, Qatar, the organization reported.
Mariana Yevsyukova, one of WFUWO’s accredited delegates to the United Nations, is representing the organization there.
On the opening day, she participated in the plenary session and several high-level events including: “Education as the Foundation of the New Social Contract,” “She Builds: Women Creating Social Solutions for an Inclusive Future,” and a high-level roundtable discussion that is focused on strengthening three pillars of social development, which are poverty eradication, decent work for all, and social inclusion.
During the Summit, Yevsyukova also met with Ukrainian officials, including Khrystyna Haiovyshyn, Deputy Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations in New York, and Andrii Kuzmenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to the State of Qatar.
In addition, she met with representatives of the Ukrainian NGO “Damo Radu,” which assists Ukrainian migrants in securing Italian pensions and social benefits.
WFUWO continues to advocate for the voices of Ukrainian women on the international stage, promoting the values of social justice, equality, and sustainable development, the organization emphasized.
