Address by the UWC President on Ukraine’s Independence Day

On this 34th anniversary of the renewal of Ukraine’s independence, I want to greet all Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine around the world. Firstly, thanking the brave men and women on the front lines of Ukraine. The medics, those that are supporting Ukraine’s rebuilding of its infrastructure while it is being attacked on a daily basis by Russia’s missiles and drones.

I want to thank all those in parliament, in government, the president of Ukraine, and all Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine around the world for what you’re doing It is incredibly important. And we know that Ukraine will prevail. We know that Ukraine will win. And what is critical is for us to also convince our governments that Russia’s imperialism must be defeated. Russia must be defeated.

And only when Russia’s imperialism is defeated, will Ukraine, Europe, and the rest of the world live in peace. And that’s why I call on everyone to support the brave men and women in Ukraine who are standing up to Россия’s Imperial threats. I am calling on all of us to help in donation to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, to help buy them the equipment that they need to defend their homes and their country. Help Ukraine in rebuilding. Prepare yourselves. Come to Ukraine to help rebuild this country.

We must be ready for that. And most importantly, let’s keep our communities and people in our respective countries strong and support of Ukraine. Ukraine needs the support of the international community and we must do everything possible on a daily basis basis in order to inform, educate and advocate for Ukraine. Together we will prevail. Ukraine will prevail. Slava Ukraini!
