Washington does not see signs of a decrease in support for military aid to Ukraine among the population of the United States of America, John Kirby, the US National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications, said.
The Americans have shown unequivocal and strong support for Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale war on Ukraine began. In addition, Washington also states that there is “solid support from the Congress in a bipartisan and bicameral way for continuing to support Ukraine,” Kirby added.
“It’s not just important to the people of Ukraine, but it’s important to our European allies and partners, particularly our NATO allies, given that this fighting is on the on the doorstep of many of those NATO allies,” the White House representative said.
Support for Ukraine is important, among other things, for the “national security of the American people.”
“If some Americans don’t feel that or since that … I think it’s important to remember that if we just sit back and we let Putin win, we let him take Ukraine, where does it stop next?” Kirby concluded.
Earlier, CNN published the survey results, in which more than half of Americans believe that the US government does not need to provide additional funding to support Ukraine.
