The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak held a meeting today with the Executive Director of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) Sonya Soutus.
Andriy Yermak emphasized the importance of real and substantive support for Ukraine from UWC, an organization that unites millions of Ukrainians across the globe.
“Today, the entire world is with us, and we should respect that. But every country is facing its own challenges. That is why we need to use different platforms in order to be heard by all the different parts of society in other countries. These people need to be informed as to why they should stand with Ukraine until our victory,” he said.
The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine also noted that Russia’s war against Ukraine, which has become a tragedy for the Ukrainian state, concurrently represents an opportunity for greater consolidation of all Ukrainians around the world.
Andriy Yermak suggested that the Ukrainian World Congress become more involved in the international platforms that are currently working on sanctions against Russia, security guarantees for Ukraine, issues pertaining to reparations and to identify qualified professionals in these fields with Ukrainian roots.
UWC’s Sonya Soutus noted that the Ukrainian World Congress is prepared to provide Ukraine with all the necessary advocacy, communications and organizational support required beyond Ukraine’s borders.
In this regard, she noted UWC’s campaign in support of granting Ukraine candidate status for EU membership.
