Call for nominations: UWC Global Youth Award “30 Under 30”

TORONTO, May 21 – The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), in partnership with the Youth Leadership Foundation in memory of Stefan Romaniw, is proud to announce the launch of nominations for the UWC Global Youth Award “30 Under 30.” This prestigious initiative recognizes outstanding young Ukrainians who are making a difference in their communities and demonstrating strong leadership.

Thirty winners will be announced in August 2025 during the UWC Summit in Kyiv, celebrating their contributions to Ukrainian communities worldwide and their commitment to shaping the future.

About the award

The UWC “30 Under 30” initiative honors extraordinary young Ukrainians across the globe—those who are transforming their communities, supporting Ukraine, and driving positive change.

UWC-affiliated organizations and community leaders are invited to nominate candidates by submitting a nomination form detailing the nominee’s achievements and aspirations.

Eligibility & selection criteria

Eligibility:

• Nominees must be of Ukrainian descent or citizens of Ukraine who have lived outside Ukraine for at least two years.
• Nominees must be under 30 years of age as of August 2025.
• Individuals currently residing in Ukraine are not eligible.

Selection Criteria:

• Civic Engagement: Leadership in community initiatives, social entrepreneurship, cultural or political activities.
• Support for Ukrainian Communities: Strengthening diaspora networks, preserving Ukrainian identity, and fostering community development.
• Leadership & Innovation: Driving impactful projects and initiatives that create meaningful change.
• Diversity & Inclusion: Gender balance will be considered in the selection process.

Winners will be chosen by a jury chaired by the President of the UWC, based on leadership, creativity, volunteerism, and community impact.

How to nominate

Ukrainian organizations within the UWC network, as well as other Ukrainian institutions abroad, may submit nominations by completing the official nomination form and sending it to [email protected] by July 20, 2025.

Organizations outside the UWC network must include a letter of support from the respective UWC Regional Vice President.
