On Feb. 24, 2026, four years after Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the international community faces a clear and unavoidable choice.
Ukraine will present a resolution to the United Nations General Assembly calling for a just and lasting peace grounded in international law and the UN Charter to reaffirm Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, demanding the return of forcibly deported civilians and abducted children, and calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire consistent with international law.
The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) calls on all Ukrainian communities worldwide to urgently demand that their governments vote in favour of Ukraine’s resolution.
This is a vote on the UN Charter
This resolution is not symbolic. It is a direct test of whether the United Nations will defend its founding principles or allow wars of aggression, territorial conquest, and mass human rights violations to go unanswered.
A “yes” vote means:
- Defending the UN Charter and international law
- Upholding the principle of Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity
- Demanding the immediate return of abducted Ukrainian children and unlawfully deported civilians
- Supporting accountability for war crimes, including reparations and prosecution
- Rejecting aggression as a legitimate tool of state policy
A failure to support this resolution undermines the credibility of the United Nations and signals that international law can be violated with impunity.
“On Feb. 24, every UN Member State must decide whether the UN Charter still matters. Supporting Ukraine’s resolution is the minimum required to defend international law, protect abducted children, and hold Russia accountable for its crimes. A vote against Ukraine — or abstention — is a vote against justice and a green light for future aggression,” UWC President Paul Grod said.
What we demand
The UWC calls on Ukrainian communities and allies everywhere to act now:
- Directly demand that your government and UN mission vote YES on Ukraine’s resolution
- Insist on public, on-the-record support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity
- Reject neutrality, abstention, or political ambiguity. There can be no neutral position on aggression, violation of the UN Charter and state-sponsored terrorism and abduction of children.
- Mobilize media, civil society, and public pressure to make this vote unavoidable
No more excuses
Four years of war have made the consequences of inaction clear: destroyed cities, murdered civilians, abducted children, and a global security order under threat.
On Feb. 24, 2026, UN Member States must vote to uphold the UN Charter by supporting Ukraine’s resolution.
Justice demands it.
International law requires it.
History will remember it.
Act now. Demand a YES vote for Ukraine.
