Investigators have determined the trajectory of the missile launched by Russia that struck the Okhmatdyt hospital
The State Security Service (SSU) of Ukraine has determined the route of the missile that Russia used to strike the Okhmatdyt hospital in July.
The missile, identified as an X-101 with the serial number 3152637961012, was launched from the Saratov region of Russia (372 miles away from the state border of Ukraine). It was fired from a Tu-95MS aircraft that took off from a military airfield near Olenegorsk in the Murmansk region. The missile entered Ukrainian airspace near the Chernihiv region, flew to Konotop, turned right, turned around, and hit the children’s hospital in Kyiv.
The SSU concludes that the missile’s flight path was specifically programmed to bypass Ukrainian air defense systems and safely hit the target. The investigation has collected evidence of the involvement of the 22nd Guards Heavy Bomber Division of the Long-Range Aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces in the attack. The incident resulted in the deaths of two people and injured 35, including nine children.
A criminal proceeding has been opened under the violation of laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder.
