IECC’s Head discusses collaboration with Ukraine’s Minister of Education

Lyuba Lyubchyk, Chair of the UWC’s International Educational Coordinating Council (IECC), met with the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Oksen Lisovyi. The meeting took place in Kyiv on May 1 during a conference organized by EdCamp Ukraine. 

The parties discussed ways of cooperation between IECC, the Ukrainian World Congress, and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. In particular, they discussed the next joint steps in protecting the interests of Ukrainian education abroad.

Lyuba Lyubchyk outlined the urgent needs and challenges currently facing Ukrainian education abroad and also received “a clear position from Oksen Lisovyi regarding the consolidation of efforts and opportunities to overcome educational gaps and outline specific joint steps to address educational tasks.”

During the meeting, participants also discussed the complete reform of the International Ukrainian School.

“We have agreed to create a joint working group, which would include state educational institutions for productive interaction and cooperation,” Lyuba Lyubchyk said.
