In loving memory of Larysa Lozynska-Kyi

On behalf of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) and the extensive Ukrainian diaspora, we express sincere and deepest condolences to Larysa Lozynska-Kyi’s family and loved ones on the passing of your dear sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, of blessed memory. With her kind and caring nature, she always knew how to balance family life with involvement in social and community activities, both in the United States and worldwide.

Today, the UWC leadership, members, and the wider Ukrainian community gather in mourning to remember and honor Larysa. Those fortunate enough to have known her and witnessed her tireless dedication to our community have truly been enriched by her exemplary contributions.

In her younger days, she was an active presence within the Ukrainian Youth Association, the Ukrainian student community in New York, and the Federation of Ukrainian Student Organizations of America (SUSTA). Later in life, her commitment extended to UWC member organizations in the United States, including the Women’s Association for the Defense of Four Freedoms for Ukraine (WADFFU), the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA), and the United Ukrainian American Relief Committee (UUARC). For many years, she served as the chair of UUARC, where her primary focus was providing humanitarian aid to those in need in her spiritual homeland. Since 2014, she has dedicated herself to supporting the wounded defenders of Ukraine.

Larysa Lozynska-Kyi, a distinguished economics professor, proudly bore her Ukrainian name in American society. Her career spanned various academic institutions, where she conducted valuable scientific research, earning deep respect from colleagues and students.

We also fondly remember Ms. Larysa’s active involvement in the annual UWC Congresses and Annual General Meetings. She consistently enriched these gatherings with her insightful and constructive contributions and her dedicated service on various committees.

The UWC leadership and members share your most profound sorrow and pray for the repose of Larysa Lozynska-Kyi’s soul. May her memory be eternal, and may she rest in peace!
