Key Activities to Strengthen Cooperation Between Autochthonous Ukrainian Communities, 2023–2024
Throughout 2023–2024, a number of activities were implemented to strengthen cooperation between autochthonous Ukrainian communities in Romania, Moldova, and Poland, as well as to preserve and promote Ukrainian culture.
2023
- Meeting with the Ukrainian Community of Moldova
A meeting was held between Mykola-Myroslav Petretskyi, Vice President of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), President of the Union of Ukrainians of Romania (UUR), and Member of the Parliament of Romania, and representatives of the Ukrainian community of Moldova. - Participation in the Koliadky Festival in Maramureș, Romania
The “Charivnytsi” ensemble from Moldova took part in a festival of traditional koliadky organized by the UUR. This became an important step in promoting Ukrainian traditions in Moldova and Romania.

- Commemorative Events Marking the Anniversary of Russia’s Full-Scale Invasion of Ukraine
A UUR delegation took part in events commemorating the victims of Russia’s full-scale invasion, organized by the National Congress of Ukrainians of Moldova (NCUM). - Seminar for Ukrainian Language Teachers in Moldova with the Participation of Colleagues from Romania
A seminar for Ukrainian language teachers was held in Moldova, with colleagues from Romania taking part. The event was aimed at professional development and the exchange of experience among educators. - Meeting of Ukrainian Language Teachers in Constanța, Romania
Ukrainian language teachers from Moldova took part in a meeting in the city of Constanța, organized by the Union of Ukrainians of Romania (UUR), where participants discussed current challenges in the educational process and prospects for cooperation between the countries. - Exchange of Experience Between Local Government Bodies
A delegation of mayors from Moldovan communities with compact Ukrainian populations visited Poland for an exchange of experience. The visit was organized by NCUM in cooperation with the Union of Ukrainians in Poland (UUP). - Ukrainian Youth Forum in Timișoara, Romania
Representatives of Ukrainian youth from Moldova from the “Zlagoda” Association took part in a forum organized by the Union of Ukrainian Youth of Romania (UUYR). - Children’s Camp in Constanța, Romania
Students from Ukrainian schools in Moldova, together with children from Romania and Ukraine, spent unforgettable days at a children’s camp organized by the UUR in Constanța. - Ukrainian Days in Moldova (UDM)
A UUR delegation headed by Mykola-Myroslav Petretskyi took part in festive events dedicated to Ukrainian Days in Moldova, organized by NCUM. - Revival of the Regional Festival of Ukrainian Culture in the Village of Yabloana, Moldova
A delegation from Romania, together with colleagues from Chernivtsi Oblast, visited the regional festival of Ukrainian culture in the village of Yabloana. This became an important step in restoring the cultural heritage of the region
