Spain hosts presentation of human rights project ‘Putin’s true prisoners’

MADRID — The Spanish Congress of Deputies has hosted the launch of the international human rights initiative “Putin’s True Prisoners: Political Prisoners of Subjugated Peoples,” organized by the Anti-Imperialist Bloc of Nations (ABN).

The event was announced by Yuri Chopyk, head of the Ukrainian community of Spain for the Rights, Honor, and Dignity of Ukrainians.

The project was presented by Oleh Medunytsia, Head of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN-b) and ABN President, and Oleh Vitvitskyi, ABN Executive Director.

The audience included members of the Spanish Congress, diplomats, human rights activists, and representatives of various national communities.

Chopyk opened the event by emphasizing the urgent need to support political prisoners and national liberation movements of peoples oppressed by the Kremlin.

According to the organizers, around 5,000 political prisoners are currently detained in Russia, many of whom are from ethnic minority groups.

Medunytsia called for international cooperation to secure their release and warned of the potential threat to Europe from freed Kremlin criminals.
