The Community Development Fund of the Ukrainian World Congress determines its winning projects

Founded in 2022, the UWC’s Community Development Fund announced the winning projects from Ukrainian communities and organizations aimed to develop Ukrainian public and cultural life worldwide.

The Fund’s Project Review Committee received applications from Ukrainian communities in 20 countries and from one international organization. The winning projects focus on building Ukriane’s and Ukrainian people’s truthful public image, teaching about Ukrainian history, culture and the present, developing Ukrainian schools in the diaspora, increasing the influence of the Ukrainian women’s movement at the UN, and promoting youth leadership in communities.

Based on the results of the submitted applications, the UWC Community Development Fund decided to provide funds to communities from the following countries: Argentina, Bulgaria, Brazil, Great Britain, Greece, Georgia, Spain, Italy, Jordan, Estonia, Latvia, Malta, Germany, New Zealand, South Africa Republic of the Republic, Poland, Slovakia, USA, Turkey, Croatia and the World Federation of Ukrainian Women’s Organizations (WFUWO).

“Making our communities around the world stronger is one of the UWC’s strategic priorities. Together, we are building Ukrainian institutions, a real Ukrainian world, from cradle to grave,” said UWC President Paul Grod. “With this newly established fund, the UWC will be able to provide strong support to local community initiatives that advocate for Ukrainian issues and help NGOs in new parts of the world. We’re building communities together!”

The Project Review Committee consisted of UWC President Paul Grod; UWC Regional Vice Presidents Pavlo Sadokha, Vira Konyk, Natalia Poshyvailo-Towler, Juri Danylyshyn, Tamara Olexy; Alex Hreceniuc, President of the WCUYO, Oksana Levytska, Chair, UWC Education Council, and Yevgeniya Petrova, Acting WFUWO Chair.
