UCCA leadership delivers life-saving ambulances to Ukraine, bonds closer ties with Ukrainian community leaders in Belgium

Devoted members of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) have completed a vital humanitarian mission to Europe, delivering 22 life-saving ambulances for Ukraine.

The UCCA delegation was led by Andriy Futey, the Third Vice President of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) and UCCA’s Special Envoy for Ukraine, along with Tamara Olexy, Executive Director of UCCA’s National Office.

Futey and Olexy visited Belgium, Germany, and Poland as part of the trip to deliver the vehicles. As part of the mission, the delegation travelled through Belgium, Germany, and Poland traversing / covering 760 kilometers (472 miles) across Europe to ensure the ambulances reached their destination, Futey said.

These vehicles are not just for transportation – they are equipped to provide critical care on the front lines, serving as lifelines on wheels for Ukrainian civilians and soldiers alike.

In Belgium, the delegation met with members of the Association of Ukrainians in Belgium and representatives of the European Congress of Ukrainians (ECU), the latter group reported.

“Igor Chocholak and Zenon Kowal from the Ukrainian Society in Belgium had the pleasure of meeting with Andriy Futey and Tamara Olexiy on Thursday and Friday, May 15-16, in Brussels,” the statement said.

Held at the Association’s headquarters, the meeting offered a valuable opportunity to exchange views on the current state of relations between the United States and the European Union.

It also included discussions about the work of both organizations, their ongoing initiatives, and their strategic vision for the future.

“The discussion took place in a constructive and warm atmosphere, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthen cooperation across the two continents,” the ECU said.
