UCCA urges NATO to close the sky over Ukraine to safeguard Europe

The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) has once again called on NATO to close the sky in what experts have dubbed the “drone wall” over Ukraine to protect Europe, the organization said in a statement on Oct. 13.

Russian drones and fighter jets are terrorizing not only Ukraine but also countries beyond its borders, the UCCA said, referring to a series of recent drone incidents that crossed into the airspace of several European countries.

“Russia tests NATO every week — violating borders, targeting civilians. Every unpunished incursion encourages the next one,” the statement said.

The organization said that Ukraine and NATO are working together to counter Russian air attacks and protect civilian infrastructure. The UCCA also suggested considering a no-fly zone over western Ukraine.

The UCCA also urged Ukrainians in the United States to contact the White House and call for more support for Ukraine.
