Ukraine invites IAIA experts after Russia’s “dirty bomb” allegations

International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi has agreed to send experts to Ukraine to make sure that it does not produce any “dirty bombs” as Russia falsely alleges, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba reported on Twitter.

“In my call with Rafael M. Grossi, I officially invited IAEA to urgently send experts to peaceful facilities in Ukraine which Russia deceitfully claims to be developing a dirty bomb. He agreed. Unlike Russia, Ukraine has always been and remains transparent. We have nothing to hide,” the minister tweeted.

On Oct. 23, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu called defense ministers of several NATO countries, spreading allegations that Ukraine is preparing a false-flag “dirty bomb” attack. Later that day, the United States, France and the United Kingdom released a joint statement, in which they rejected the allegations as “transparently false.”
