Students from Ukrainian schools in the United Kingdom have sent messages of support to Ukrainian athletes preparing for the upcoming Winter Olympic Games.
Younger students at the Ukrainian School of Bristol recorded a video message saying:
“Hello! We are students of the Ukrainian School in Bristol. We wish the Ukrainian Olympic team every success. On to victory — glory to Ukraine!”
School principal Antonina Hrebeniuk said the students were happy to have the opportunity to share words of encouragement with Ukrainian athletes.
“We sincerely thank you for the opportunity to take part in such an important initiative and to convey messages of support from our community,” she said.

Students from the St Mary’s Ukrainian School also addressed the athletes with a message of encouragement.
“Dear athletes, we believe in you and are very proud of you. When you train and compete, you inspire us to be brave and never give up. To us, you are already winners.”
The Winter Olympic Games will take place in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo from Feb. 6 to 22. Ukraine will compete in 11 of the 16 sports disciplines, with 46 Ukrainian athletes qualified — its largest Olympic team since the 2010 Winter Games.
