Ukrainian diaspora in Japan backs wounded defenders with lifesaving rehabilitation

The Ukrainian community in Japan continues to play a critical role in supporting wounded Ukrainian soldiers by helping them regain mobility and rebuild their lives.

The Kraiany Association of Ukraine-Japan Friendship has facilitated another successful rehabilitation mission by helping a Ukrainian defender arrive at the Central Hospital of Japan’s Self-Defense Forces to receive a custom lower-limb prosthetic and undergo a three-month rehabilitation program.

Kraiany expressed deep gratitude to Japan for its continued support.

“We truly value your help!” they said.

Earlier, on Aug. 1, another Ukrainian defender successfully completed treatment at the same hospital, receiving a prosthetic and actively engaging in rehabilitation efforts.

In an interview with the Ukrainian World Congress, Kraiany said that even before Japan’s official prosthetics and rehabilitation program launched in June 2023, they had already carried out their first initiative to support the recovery of Ukrainian defenders in Japan.
