Toronto, Canada – The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) proudly congratulates Ian (Ihor) Ihnatowycz, C.M. on his induction into the Order of Canada, one of the country’s highest civilian honours. This prestigious recognition celebrates Ian’s extraordinary leadership, philanthropy, and unwavering commitment to strengthening communities in Canada and around the world.

A renowned business leader and philanthropist, Ihor together with his wife Marta, established the Ihnatowycz Family Foundation, which has provided transformative support to institutions including Western University’s Ivey Business School, The Royal Conservatory of Music, the Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre, the Waterloo Eye Institute, and SickKids. The Foundation continues to champion impactful charitable and educational initiatives globally, including steadfast support for the UWC.

Ihor is a deeply respected figure in Ukrainian civic life. He serves as Vice‑Chair of the UWC International Advisory Council, is a member of the Board of the Atlantic Council, and is a recipient of the UWC St. Volodymyr Medal, one of UWC’s highest honours. His dedication to ensuring the world remembers the historical truth of the Holodomor includes producing the feature film “Bitter Harvest.”
