Ukrainians in Finland call for boycott of companies doing business in Russia

HELSINKI – The Ukrainian Association in Finland (UAF) staged a protest in Helsinki on Dec. 9 against companies that continue doing business in Russia despite the Kremlin’s all-out invasion of Ukraine.

“Despite Russia’s widespread crimes, several foreign companies are still operating in the aggressor state,” the UAF said.

The community called for a boycott of companies that continue to operate in the Russian market, pay taxes there, and thereby contribute to the state’s budget, effectively supporting its military and the war against Ukraine.

“By buying products from Mondelez, Nestlé, Pepsi, or L’Oréal, you are indirectly funding Russian aggression,” the UAF said.

A similar protest was held recently in the United Kingdom.

Members of the Ukrainian community in London staged a public demonstration in the city center that urged residents and tourists to avoid purchasing from companies that continue doing business in Russia and paying taxes there that directly or indirectly help Russia’s warmongering efforts.
