UWC and Ukraine’s Economic Security Bureau sign memorandum on strategic partnership

TORONTO, Dec. 3 — The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) and the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine (ESBU) have signed a memorandum of strategic partnership, establishing cooperation across several key areas.

The memorandum seeks to create a formal partnership between ESBU and the UWC to jointly strengthen Ukraine’s economic security, build connections with international partners, promote trade and investment, advance transparency and ethical business standards, and promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise in areas of mutual interest.

Under the agreement, the UWC and ESBU will share experience in combating financial crimes and money laundering, work to improve Ukraine’s investment climate, and enhance international investor confidence.

The memorandum also provides for joint seminars, workshops, and forums on business and trade, as well as expanding ESBU’s international contacts and involving global experts in Ukraine’s economic security reforms.

During the signing meeting, ESBU Director Oleksandr Tsyvinsky and his deputy Yuriy Belousov briefed UWC President Paul Grod on ESBU’s recent work and its role in protecting Ukraine’s economy.

“This memorandum will help the global Ukrainian community and ESBU work together to support Ukraine’s economic security and promote transparent business practices,” Grod said.

The document takes effect immediately upon signing.

Earlier, on Aug. 26, the UWC delegation held its first meeting with ESBU representatives, discussing Ukraine’s anti-corruption system, protections for foreign investors, support for anti-corruption institutions, and building international partnerships.
