The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) delegation, led by President Paul Grod, met with Ukraine’s newly appointed government on Aug. 25.
President Grod congratulated Oleksii Sobolev on his appointment as Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, and Taras Kachka on his appointment as Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
The meeting focused on security guarantees and Ukraine’s NATO membership, economic and industrial development within the framework of European integration, attracting investment, supporting Ukrainian small and medium-sized businesses abroad, and strengthening cooperation between the Ukrainian government and the UWC.
Grod emphasized the UWC’s role in advancing Ukraine’s path to victory. Through its initiative “UniteWithUkraine,” the organization has raised $75.3 million (around 3.1 billion UAH) from donors in more than 70 countries to support Ukraine’s defense and security forces.
The delegation also met with members of the Verkhovna Rada, including Iryna Gerashchenko, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, Volodymyr Viatrovych, Roman Hryshchuk, Rostyslav Tistyk, Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, and Serhiy Sobolev.
“Multiple citizenship is a vital step in enabling Ukrainians abroad to return and take part in rebuilding Ukraine,” said Grod, thanking lawmakers for passing the multiple citizenship law.
Both sides agreed to work together to preserve Ukrainian identity and counter Russian disinformation.
