Last week UWC leadership met with influential German think tank Zentrum Liberale Moderne (LibMod). The meeting, joined by the leaders of the Ukrainian community in Germany, focused on Germany – Ukraine relations in the transatlantic context, key security issues in Ukraine and the region, countering Russian aggression, implications of Nord Stream 2, Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration and priorities for future collaboration between UWC and LibMod. This meeting followed from the initial discussions at UWC Ukraine Days in Berlin in 2019 and once again highlighted the role of civil society and expert community.
LibMod’s managing partner and co-founder Ralf Fücks, Julia Eichhofer (Fellow) and Dr. Iryna Solonenko (Senior Fellow) presented the outline of “Ukraine verstehen” (“Understanding Ukraine”) initiative, which studies the German-Ukrainian relations and the perception of Ukraine in Germany.
