Paul Grod, President of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), on Dec. 13 called on Ukrainian communities in Eastern Europe to join the signing of the Declaration of Global Ukrainian Unity during the Forum of Ukrainians of Eastern Europe in Przemyśl.
“At the UWC Annual General Meeting in October, we proclaimed 2026 as the Year of Global Ukrainian Unity, and we are launching it with the Declaration of Unity,” Grod said. “We call on all Ukrainian organizations that share its principles — Ukraine’s victory, postwar reconstruction, territorial integrity, and a strong global Ukrainian community — to join this document and demonstrate the strength and scale of global Ukrainians.”
The Declaration of Unity represents a shared position and a public commitment by Ukrainian civic organizations outside Ukraine to act together in support of Ukraine’s victory, reconstruction, and the strengthening of the global Ukrainian community. The document unifies the voice of the diaspora and demonstrates broad international support for Ukraine to global partners.
The declaration is open for signature by civic organizations, associations, unions, cultural and educational institutions, religious communities, initiative groups, and other entities founded by Ukrainians or people of Ukrainian descent.
Both UWC member organizations and partner organizations that share the declaration’s goals and work in support of Ukraine are eligible to sign.

The Forum of Ukrainians of Eastern Europe in Przemyśl began on Dec. 12 and runs through Dec. 14. Earlier, the UWC announced that 2026 would be the Year of Global Ukrainian Unity, emphasizing the expansion of its global presence and its role in shaping Ukraine’s future.
