The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) is seeking several volunteer English language editors. The expected commitment is approximately two to three hours per week.
UWC produces the original content. We need editors who can take that copy, quickly understand the organization, and refine it into clear, well-structured English for our audiences: donors, supporters, partners, governments, media, and the wider public.
What the work involves
The material includes reports, public statements, letters to governments, media articles, and other communications issued on behalf of UWC. One larger project, which requires more time than the weekly commitment, is the preparation of UWC’s Annual Report.
Responsibilities
- Review draft content produced by UWC and refine it for clarity, flow, and readability.
- Ensure materials speak to a global audience while meeting the expectations of Western (North American) readers, donors, and stakeholders.
- Maintain a consistent tone, voice, and style across UWC communications.
- Remove jargon and ensure content is concise and accessible.
- Identify gaps, repetition, or areas that require clarification.
- Return clean, publication-ready copy on the timelines UWC sets.
What we are looking for
This is not proofreading alone. We are looking for editorial partners who can take strong internal content and turn it into finished English-language material that presents UWC’s work clearly and speaks effectively to its audiences.
Why this matters
UWC represents the interests of around 25 million Ukrainians across more than 85 countries. Its communications are how it makes its case to donors, governments, media, and partners. Clear, credible writing has a direct effect on the funding and standing that allow UWC to advocate for Ukraine and support Ukrainian communities worldwide.
An editor who helps present this work well is making a real contribution to that effort. The difference reaches beyond any single document: stronger communications support stronger advocacy for Ukraine and for the global Ukrainian community. Your work would be valued and appreciated.

This is a volunteer contribution. Editors’ work will be recognized in two ways: through acknowledgment in UWC publications, including the Annual Report, and through the UWC Volunteer Recognition Program.
