Today, May 18, Ukrainians and friends of Ukraine around the world celebrate Vyshyvanka Day – the embroidered shirt is a symbol of Ukraine’s rich thousand year old plus cultural heritage. The vyshyvanka has become a symbol of solidarity with the Ukrainian people in their battle for survival against Russia’s barbaric invasion and has given the Ukrainian people the strength to resist and prevail. As the defenders of Ukraine stand bravely on the front lines and push to liberate their homeland, they need our help. On this Vyshyvanka Day, I call upon you to join the #UniteWithUkraine campaign and make a generous donation to help protect the defenders of Ukraine. Through its #UniteWithUkraine initiative, the Ukrainian World Congress has provided over $40 million in assistance to the Territorial Defense Forces, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and other security structures. Donors from over 70 countries joined in for the initiative.
