Advocacy focus: Key dates in June

These key dates, events, and initiatives in June serve as guideposts for advocacy efforts and should be considered when planning activities, communications, and strategic messaging.

Commemorative dates

  • June 1 – 110th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Beleyovych (1916–1999), commander of the “Makivka” military district of the UPA-West and a fighter for Ukraine’s independence in the 20th century.
  • June 4 – Day of remembrance for children who died as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression.
  • June 5 – World Environment Day.
  • June 6 – Third anniversary of Russian occupation forces blowing up the dam and machinery hall of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.
