The legendary Hromada magazine is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the Society of Ukrainian Culture in Hungary has said.
“For three decades, it has united people and preserved and shared the history of the Ukrainian community in Hungary,” the community wrote.
To mark the anniversary, the magazine’s authors will be sharing with readers a series of stories about the publication’s founding and its journey over the years.
The trial issue of the “Hromada” Quarterly was released back in 1995.
“The publication of the Society of Ukrainian Culture in Hungary, “Hromada“, was born in 1996 in Budapest from the strong belief of its founders that the Ukrainian printed word has the right to exist on Hungarian soil and systematically inform our readers about the spiritual and cultural life of the Ukrainian national minority in Hungary, which was legally recognized in 1993,” the authors say.
Hromada is traditionally published every two months and runs to around 50 pages.
