Over 90% of Ukrainians say Putin is today’s Hitler

Ukrainians have shown a common consent in answering a poll question on their perception of the aggressor country’s dictator Vladimir Putin.

In a recent survey by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation and the Razumkov Center, 94% of respondents agreed with the statement that “Putin is Hitler today,” including 82.2% agreeing completely and 11.8% saying they rather agree than disagree.

This general consent was more or less similar across the country, mostly differing in the ratio between the “agree completely” and “rather agree than disagree” answers.

The respondents were also asked about personalities on the other side of the frontline.

Answers to the question, which of Ukraine’s politicians and public figures have played an important role in defending the country, showed absolute leadership of President Volodymyr Zelensky, who was named by 65% of respondents. Nearly half of the sample also mentioned the Armed Forces of Ukraine Commander in Chief, Valeriy Zaluzhny (47%).

A similar question concerning foreign politicians and public figures indicated three distinct leaders: U.S. President Joe Biden (mentioned by 58% of respondents), Polish President Andrzej Duda (50%) and former U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson (49%).
