
Students in 7th and 8th grades at Polish schools will now be able to officially receive study the Ukrainian language as a secondary language, the Ukrainian Embassy in Poland announced.
“The curriculum for teaching Ukrainian as a second foreign language to 7th and 8th graders in Polish secondary schools was officially published for use on July 25,” the embassy said.
The program was developed by Pavlo Levchuk, an associate professor at the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and is supported by the Ukrainian Embassy.
To introduce Ukrainian language classes at a school, parents must submit a request to the school administration. Additionally, a qualified Ukrainian language teacher and a group of interested students must be available. Approval from the school principal and governing body is also required.
