Roman Dubczak, Deputy Chairman of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) Capital Markets and an active member of the Ukrainian community in Canada, has joined the Business Advisory Council. The platform will provide practical advice and consultations to the Ukrainian government on improving the business climate and attracting investment to the private sector.

The first meeting of the Business Advisory Council took place within the framework of the international Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC-2024) in Berlin, Ukraine’s government reported. “The Business Advisory Council includes nearly two dozen CEOs of the world’s leading companies and business associations from different countries – the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Norway, the EU and Ukraine,” states the Cabinet of Ministers’ website.

Members of the Business Advisory Council will provide guidance to the Ukrainian government on overcoming challenges that investors encounter in Ukraine. Their primary focus will be on integrating Ukraine into global supply chains, assisting Ukrainian companies in entering international markets, and identifying strategies to accelerate investment in key sectors such as energy.

It is essential for us to change investors’ perception of Ukraine. Despite the invasion, many companies are investing in Ukraine. Certainly, businesses face challenges. Our goal, together with the members of the Business Advisory Council, is to work out ways to overcome the obstacles faced by investors who want to enter the Ukrainian market. Supporting business development is an absolute priority of the Government, and I strongly believe that the involvement of representatives of large global companies in improving the business environment in Ukraine will contribute to this,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
