The UWC President held a press briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform

KYIV, – December 20, 2022. The President of the Ukrainian World Congress, Paul Grod, held a briefing for the Ukrainian media about the “Activities of the Ukrainian World Congress since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation: assistance to the Armed Forces.”

“Our focus since the beginning of the full-scale invasion is the military, economic and political support of Ukraine”, – Mr. Grod presented the main directions of worldwide Ukrainians’ efforts. – “We work at street rallies, in the corridors of power, and in the media of our countries, where we describe what is happening in Ukraine, so that civil society, and together with them, politicians support Ukraine.”

During the briefing, the UWC President also announced that through the Unite with Ukraine platform, the UWC collected 40 million dollars over the past ten months, almost all of which went to procure equipment and supplies for the Ukrainian defenders.

“At first, we heard directly from the Territorial Defense that they needed body armor and helmets. And we responded promptly; we purchased tens of thousands of helmets and sent them in an organized manner to Territorial Defense. Then we realized that we needed communication systems, generators, and drones for our defenders. And we just returned from a visit to Ukraine, where, first and foremost, we handed over a large container of such equipment,” said the UWC president about the requests for Ukraine’s defenders, which change at each new stage of the war.
