The Canadian government intends, at the request of Germany, to exclude from sanctions turbines for the Nord Stream gas pipeline, which will create a precedent for the embargo being lifted at the request of the aggressor state.
The Ukrainian government is already aware of Canada’s intentions to agree to such a point-by-point lifting of sanctions restrictions on Russia and considers this decision unfounded and dangerous for the sanctions regime, according to a spokesperson at the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy.
Earlier, Ukraine appealed to the Canadian government with technical data showing that the Russian Federation already has the capacity to carry out pumping.
At the beginning of July, Germany officially appealed to Canada to lift sanctions and unblock the delivery of a repaired SIEMENS turbine to Russia to allow Gazprom to gain pumping capacity.
