The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) encourages Ukrainians throughout the world to participate in the competition for the Ivan Franko International Prize named after the renowned writer whose 160th anniversary of birth and 100th anniversary of death are being marked by the entire global Ukrainian community.
The award was established by the Ivan Franko International Fund to promote comprehensive study of the creative, scientific and civic activities of Ivan Franko, and to encourage academics around the world to conduct relevant research in the social sciences and humanities, and Ukrainian studies, to broaden understanding and awareness of the scientific and cultural heritage of Ukraine in the global context.
“The Ukrainian World Congress calls upon the global Ukrainian community to understand and popularize the creative legacy of the renowned Ukrainian writer, academic and community activist Ivan Franko who made a significant contribution to the national rebirth of Ukraine,” commented UWC President Eugene Czolij.
