UWC PRESIDENT ADDRESSES INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “UKRAINE AT THE CROSSROADS” 


Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) President Eugene Czolij participated in the international conference “Ukraine at the Crossroads” held March 7-8, 2012 in Canada’s capital, Ottawa. The conference included 32 experts from Ukraine, Europe, Canada and the United States who discussed the issues of democracy, human rights, economic freedoms and foreign policy in contemporary Ukraine.


 Encouraging continued engagement with Ukraine on both the official and grassroots levels, Eugene Czolij assured participants that UWC will continue to cooperate with international community in supporting Ukraine on the critical path toward European integration. He also highlighted the significance of the upcoming parliamentary elections in Ukraine and UWC’s leading role, together with its member organizations, in organizing an international observer mission.

The conference, was organized under the patronage of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and sponsored by the Canada-Ukraine Foundation, the Chair of Ukrainian Studies at the University of Ottawa and the Center for US-Ukraine Relations.
