UKRAINIAN WORLD CONGRESS PRESIDENT ADDRESSES NATIONAL CONVENTIONS OF THE ORGANIZATIONS FOR THE DEFENSE OF FOUR FREEDOMS FOR UKRAINE

On October 22, 2011, Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) President Eugene Czolij delivered the keynote address during the banquet organized in conjunction with the XXIX National Convention of the Organization for the Defense of Four Freedoms for Ukraine (ODFFU) and the XVI National Convention of the Women’s Association for the Defense of Four Freedoms for Ukraine (WADFFU) held in Whippany, U.S.A.

The UWC President extended greetings to the convention delegates and congratulated the membership of the two affiliated organizations on their success in maintaining the Ukrainian national identity and raising awareness among Americans about issues related to Ukraine. He noted, in particular, their contribution to Ukraine’s achievement of independence. Eugene Czolij also appealed to the ODFFU and WADFFU to actively support the work of the UWC, specifically, its promotion of Ukraine’s European integration and efforts to ensure the respect of fundamental freedoms and human rights by the Ukrainian authorities.

In addition, the UWC President commended the past presidents of both organizations, Michael Koziupa and Chrystya Wereszczak, for their leadership, and wished the elected presidents, Stepan Kaczurak and Chrystya Wereszczak, every success in their work.

The convention delegates were also greeted by the UWC Secretary General Stefan Romaniw.
