The majority of Ukrainian citizens oppose territorial concessions to Russia, even for the sake of ending the war. 90% of the country’s population insists on the inadmissibility of compromises with the aggressor, as evidenced by the results of a sociological study by Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation.
Less than 5% of the study participants advocated giving up Ukraine’s lands to end the war.
“Readiness to give up Ukraine’s future membership in NATO was expressed somewhat more – 18% of Ukrainians. No more than 13% of Ukrainians are ready to agree to reduce the armed forces in peacetime, which was allegedly discussed in Istanbul in 2022. No more than 17-18% of respondents are ready to give the Russian language official status or to abandon the policy of decommunization in favor of the Kremlin,” the study results indicate.
The survey was conducted from August 9 to 15 by personal communication method. In total, more than 2,000 respondents aged 18 and over took part. The theoretical sampling error does not exceed 2.3%.
