The Association of Ukrainians in Denmark (AUD), a cultural and community organization founded in 1993, on March 15 elected new leadership.
Oleksii Kopylov, an experienced leader in the private sector and active volunteer, was appointed as the new head of the association during the meeting.
“I’d like to thank the AUD Coordination Council and all member organizations for their trust! Together, we will make our community even stronger and more effective!” Kopylov wrote.
Vasyl Gedz, the head of the Aarhus branch of the Lastivka Ukrainian organization in Denmark and a member of the AUD, believes Kopylov’s organizational skills and leadership qualities will provide a strong foundation for the future development of the Ukrainian community in Denmark.
“He excels at working with people, thinks strategically, approaches tasks systematically, and is always focused on results,” Gedz said.
Oleksii Fedoruk, a “systematic worker with years of experience and an active volunteer at Denmark’s largest Ukrainian organization, Lastivka,” was appointed vice-chairman.
“He is an idea generator, the director of the Ukrainian school Rodovid in Copenhagen, and has significant experience in educational activities. Fedoruk also works in IT. His professional expertise, analytical approach, and dedication to the Ukrainian cause will greatly enhance the Association’s work,” Gedz said.
The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) extends its heartfelt gratitude to the previous leadership of the association – Lesia Ignatyk-Eriksen, Alla Kuchans and Oksana Kifyak – for their tireless dedication, hard work, and invaluable contributions to the Ukrainian community’s development.
Their support and leadership played a crucial role in the organization’s achievements, and we are deeply grateful for their efforts in strengthening the Ukrainian community and preserving our cultural heritage.
The UWC congratulates Kopylov and Fedoruk on their election and looks forward to a productive relationship for the benefit of Ukraine and the global Ukrainian community.
