  • What Putin launched a “special operation” to culminate in Russia’s military parade in Kyiv in three days entered today its 100th day. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia has lost
    – nearly 31,000 of its personnel (twice as many as the U.S.S.R. lost in Afghanistan over 10 years of the war)
    – 1,367 tanks (80% of what Russia began the invasion with)
    – 3,366 armored personnel vehicles (78%)
    – 175 helicopters (73%)
    – 210 aircraft (56%)
and a lot of other stuff.
The losses of Russia by far exceed the resources of many European countries.

THE PRICE UKRAINE HAS BEEN PAYING TO DEFEND DEMOCRACY IN THE WORLD

Over the 100 days since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, at least 4,113 Ukrainian civilians have been officially confirmed by the UN as killed in the war and 4,916 as wounded. However, according to Ukrainian police, bodies of 1,288 civilians were found in Kyiv Oblast alone as of mid-May. And the Mariupol death toll is estimated at 22,000 to 50,000.

Close to 700 Ukrainian children are officially confirmed to be victims of Russia’s full-scale aggression as of June 1, including about 250 dead and 450 wounded.

Currently, every day of this war takes 60 to 100 lives of Ukrainian servicemen, and about 500 more are wounded.

Nearly 12 million Ukrainians have become internally displaced persons, and over five million, mostly women and children, have gone abroad.

About 1,4 million Ukrainian citizens, including more than 230,000 children, were forcefully deported to Russia.

One-fifth of the Ukrainian territory, or nearly 125,000 square kilometers, is occupied by Russian orcs. This is equivalent to half of the United Kingdom and exceeds the combined territory of Belgium, The Netherlands, and Luxemburg.

A total of 300,000 square kilometers of Ukraine’s territory under its control are polluted with unexploded mines and shells.

The Russian orcs took over 3,600 Ukrainian localities (of which 1,017 have been already liberated by the Ukrainian armed forces).

Ukraine’s total loss due to the invasion has exceeded $600 billion, including over $109 billion in infrastructure. Ukraine has lost 35% of its GDP.

Over these 100 days, Ukraine has lost as damaged or ruined:

  • Over 44 million square meters of housing worth about $40 billion
  • Over 200 plants and factories
  • 23,800 kilometers of roads
  • 6,300 kilometers of railroad tracks
  • 41 railroad bridges
  • 643 health institutions
  • 1,123 education institutions
  • 1937 schools and preschools, of which 181 are ruined completely
  • 19 oil tank farms
  • 19 shopping malls
