The Ukrainian community in the United Kingdom has announced a public lecture on the history of the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB), as reported by AUGB. The event is scheduled for 18:30 local time on April 10th.

The lecture will explore the happenings between 1945-1946 pertaining to Ukrainians who ended up in Great Britain during the early 1940s.

Roman Kravets, a researcher of Ukrainian history in the United Kingdom and chief editor of the British volume of the Encyclopedia of the Ukrainian Diaspora, published in the online encyclopedia Ukrainians in the UK, will deliver the lecture. Kravets has dedicated many years to the search for and study of documentary materials about Ukrainians in the United Kingdom.

“Who were the people who came to the United Kingdom in the first half of the 1940s? What events preceded the formation of the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain? The speaker will present these main aspects,” organizers said.

The event will take place offline at the main office of AUGB at 49 Linden Gardens, London, W2 4HG, GB. Admission is free.
