Mariupol Deputy Mayor: Occupiers are lying about restoration of heating in Mariupol

Advisor to Mariupol’s Mayor Petro Andryushchenko declared on Telegram that the ruined heating system in Mariupol will not be restored before winter despite contrary statements by the Russian occupiers.

According to Mr Andryushchenko, it is almost impossible to repair most of Mariupol’s gas-fired heating system from the damage inflicted by the invaders. The Russians understand this and are starting to transition heating to coal and firewood. Mr Andryushchenko explained that, some time ago, Mariupol modernized its gas boiler heating system which is not designed for solid fuels. Municipal gas lines are too severely damaged to repair. In the face of no heat this winter, Mr Andryushchenko foresees more forced deportations of local residents.
