Only Erdoğan can bring Putin back to the “grain deal” – Kuleba

Ukraine is coordinating efforts with Türkiye to return Russia to the Black Sea Grain Initiative, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.

“Ukraine is coordinating with Erdoğan to have Putin return to the Black Sea Grain Agreement, and Erdoğan is coordinating with Zelenskyy. This is a common interest,” Kuleba said.

The President of Türkiye is the only person capable of returning Putin to the Black Sea Grain Initiative, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine believes.

The Kremlin announced the withdrawal from the “grain deal” on July 17. Russia threatened “risks” to the parties who decided to continue the agreements without Moscow. The situation provoked an increase in food prices. This is exacerbating the energy and financial crisis, the UN says.

Meanwhile, Erdoğan discussed the Black Sea Grain Initiative with Putin in a telephone conversation on August 2. In addition, the President of Türkiye agreed to the visit of the Russian dictator to Ankara.
