Ukrainian World Congress appoints Director of Development

The Ukrainian World Congress is pleased to announce welcome Maksym Stolyarevskyy as Director of Development. 

Maksym is an accomplished fundraising professional that successfully supported various not for profit organizations in Canada. Prior to joining Ukrainian World Congress, Maksym served as the Associate Director of Advancement with York University, leading all philanthropic activities in their Faculty of Science. During his tenure, Maksym helped achieve the Faculty’s advancement vision by securing record size gifts for York Science and establishing an external Advisory Board among other activities. In addition to fundraising experience in higher education, Maksym had supported fundraising efforts in International Development with CARE Canada, Healthcare with SickKids Foundation and Community Development with United Way of Peel Region. 

As an active volunteer in Ukrainian Canadian community, Maksym’s roles have included: former president of Ukrainian National Federation – Toronto, board member of Ukrainian Canadian Congress-Toronto, board member of Bloor West Village Ukrainian Festival and others. As part of his community engagement, he successfully launched an annual international film festival, organized Ukrainian performing artists’ tours and partnered with Ukrainian and international funders to promote and celebrate Ukrainian culture with global audiences.

“The position of the UWC Director of Development and Fundraising is key today as Ukraine is still in dire need of humanitarian, financial, and security assistance,” noted Dr. Yuri Huculak, UWC Vice President for Development and Fundraising. – “We are pleased to welcome Maksym and believe that with his assistance, we will be able to overcome many challenges and mobilize all possible resources to support the Ukrainian state and its defenders”.
