The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) congratulates the Honourable Chrystia Freeland on her appointment on 10 January 2017 as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada.
Minister Freeland previously served as Canada’s Minister of International Trade, signing the historic Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement on 11 July 2016 in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Chrystia Freeland has been an active member of the Ukrainian community in Canada since her youth. She has always defended such fundamental principles as the territorial integrity of independent states, including Ukraine.
