On 9 November 2015 Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) President Eugene Czolij sent a letter of congratulations to the Right Honourable Justin Trudeau on being sworn in as Canada’s 23rd Prime Minister.
Emphasizing Canada’s steadfast support for the country’s Ukrainian community, as well as for Ukraine and its people, the UWC President highlighted the historically strong relationship between Canada and Ukraine.
The UWC also congratulates two Ukrainian Canadians that were named to the Cabinet of Canada, namely the Honourable Chrystia Freeland as Minister of International Trade and the Honourable MaryAnn Mihychuk as Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour.
“We count on Canada’s continued support under the leadership of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as Ukrainians are forced to defend from foreign aggression their right to live freely and in dignity on their sovereign, native soil,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
