On 30 May 2016, in Tirana, Albania, Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) President Eugene Czolij met with the Speaker of the Parliament of Albania, Ilir Meta, to discuss continued support for Ukraine.
The UWC President directed primary attention to the international crisis instigated by the Russian Federation by illegally occupying Crimea and continuing its military activities in Eastern Ukraine.
In relation to this, Eugene Czolij called upon Albania, a NATO member state, to support Ukraine in the defence of its independence and territorial integrity, thereby helping to stop the expansionist ambitions of the Russian Federation.
“This meeting was productive and I thank the Speaker of the Parliament of Albania for the solidarity with the Ukrainian nation and the expression of support for Ukraine,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
