On 11 December 2015, in Brussels, Belgium, Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) President Eugene Czolij met with NATO Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Alexander Vershbow and NATO Parliamentary Assembly Secretary General David Hobbs to discuss the importance of protecting Ukraine’s territorial integrity.

During the meetings, the UWC President emphasized the geopolitical consequences, including the serious threat to global security, of the hybrid war being waged by Russian President Vladimir Putin against Ukraine.

Eugene Czolij underscored that if the international community does not assist Ukraine in forcing Russia to remove its military from Ukraine’s Donbas region and return Crimea to Ukraine, Russia’s President will be bolstered to continue threatening peace and security in other regions of Europe and elsewhere.

The UWC President also discussed UWC’s humanitarian initiatives, including the Patriot Defence project through which over 21,000 NATO-standard Improved First Aid Kits have been delivered to the defenders of Ukraine.

The UWC Liaison Officer in the EU Maryna Iaroshevych also participated in these meetings.

“The meetings were very constructive and NATO’s high-level officials ensured their support of the protection of Ukraine’s territorial integrity,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
