Nearly half of the Ukrainian energy system is out of order due to missile strikes by Russia at Ukraine’s critical infrastructure, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal told reporters Friday at a briefing with European Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis, according to UNIAN.
“On November 15 alone, Russia fired about 100 missiles at Ukrainian cities. Almost half of our energy system is disabled,” said Shmyhal.
Given such circumstances, he also said, Ukraine needs additional support from European partners in the energy field, such as the supply of equipment and financial support for purchasing additional gas volumes and other support for the energy sector.
