Belarus has started creating a tent city to deploy about 1,000 Wagner fighters at the Zyabrovka airfield, the National Resistance Center reports.
“A new camp for Wagner mercenaries is being built in the settlement of Zyabrovka in the Republic of Belarus, on the border with Ukraine, according to the resistance. It is planned to use them to simulate subversive activities on the border with the Chernihiv Oblast in the future,” the NRC explained.
Besides that, Belarus and Russia seek to use Wagner to pressure European countries. Thus, Minsk and Moscow are trying to reduce support for Ukraine.
“It is like, ‘If only they wouldn’t attack us.’ There is an imitation of the deployment of the camps of the Wagner private military company and the introduction of narratives into the information field that the mercenaries are ready to go to the EU as part of such an information operation at the initial stage,” the NRC added.
Meanwhile, Poland and Lithuania increase their forces on the border with Belarus. Earlier, the ministers of internal affairs of the countries coordinated plans to respond to possible new provocations from Belarus, including the potential closure of the border.
